Bio: Monte Fisher

Credentials: BA in Liberal Studies, Master's in Administration and Leadership.

I was born in Central California, where my grandparents farmed the fertile soil, of Southern Fresno.  I was still young when my parents moved north to the Napa Valley in California.  Both parents were working in medical fields, motivating our family to relocate further up the Napa Valley, near St. Helena Hospital.  It was not long until we found ourselves calling Angwin home, by Pacific Union College.

I attended Pacific Union College (PUC) Elementary, PUC Preparatory School, and eventually PUC, earning my BA in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in education.  While in college, the lure of adventure and need for periodic employment drew me to Alaska, to work on fishing boats for Alpha Corporation.  After a couple of years working the decks, I was entrusted to pilot a vessel and given the responsibility of managing a crew.  One year we caught 70,000 pounds of fish!  It was record for that site.

Once graduated from college, I spent a year teaching science and math at San Diego Academy.  The following year, God blessed us with an invitation to return to PUC Elementary and teach sixth grade.  For nearly one and a half decades I taught fifth and sixth grades at PUC Elementary, mentoring student teachers and honing my craft.

Before accepting the invitation to serve as principal at PCA, I had the privilege to serve as an administrator and teacher at Ozark Adventist School in Gentry, AR, for six years.  I completed my Master’s in Administration and Leadership at the University of Arkansas, which gave me a unique perspective on how to integrate best practice into our private school settings.

I believe that God has orchestrated my background and life, so that I would be a blessing to our children and families at PCA, and trust in his providence and daily leading.  I am so happy and grateful to minister to each of you, and am committed to lifting our children, families, and staff up to our Father God daily.  PCA is His school!

In my free time, I enjoy reading, traveling, wakeboarding, backpacking, scuba, skiing, and exercising.

My favorite verse is, "Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit" ~ Romans 15:13.
