“Then they brought young children to Jesus, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them. But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, ‘Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.’ And He took them up in His arms, put His hands on them, and blessed them.” Mark 10:13-16
These verses are the cornerstone of my philosophy. As an educator, it is my responsibility to lead children to Jesus and to make sure I am not hindering their access to Him in any way. As I am leading them to their best Friend, I am also helping them learn the skills they need to do their best wherever God calls them to work for Him.
Having been born and raised in the Washington Palouse and growing up on a farm, I am a country girl at heart. I went to elementary school in Farmington, attended all four years at UCA and graduated from Walla Walla University with a BS in Elementary Education.
After graduation I worked as a substitute teacher in the Walla Walla valley, four years at Cascade Christian Academy as a substitute teacher, resource teacher, and kindergarten teacher and I’ve also taught grades 1-4 at the elementary school in Eau Claire, Michigan and grades 1-8 in Farmington, Washington.
I have many interests, some of them being: bird watching, baking, reading, travel, and crafts.
