Bio: Devin Darrough
Name: Devin Darrough
I am a Northwest kid (lived in Oregon, Idaho and Alaska) who has been privileged to experience a variety of schooling styles from home to public to private. To me a child's education is fostered through a community; starting at home and being cultivated at school by everyone the child comes in contact. Therefore, it is my desire to foster a safe and emotionally healthy learning environment for all students. I chose Physical Education because physical activity is a prerequisite to the learning process; having been proven to increase test performance, raise self-esteem, reduce the incidence of life threatening diseases while producing a positive impact on the social and emotional well-being of the individual that maintains an active lifestyle. I myself enjoy this kind of active lifestyle. I advocate through setting an example and by my work that others understand and have the opportunity to become or maintain an active life.
Hobbies: Playing sports (volleyball, basketball, softball, flag-football, racquetball, tennis, soccer, ultimate Frisbee, floor hockey) and more...camping, canoeing, backpacking, cycling, fishing, swimming, snow shoeing, and cross country skiing to name a few.
